After his owner abandoned him for a new couch, the cat refuses to eat.

Tim moved into what he thought would be his forever home when he was a tiny three-month-old kitten. The sweet tabby loved and trusted his owner wholeheartedly, never suspecting that in return, his heart would be shattered. Tim ended up being abandoned by his owner, who surrendered him to New York City Animal Care and Control (ACC) with the explanation that the family had gotten a new couch. Tim was devastated and immediately went into a deep depression.

To make matters worse, Tim was placed on the ACC’s euthanasia list, putting him in danger of losing not only his family but also his life. Magnificat intervened and saved Tim on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. Magnificat is a rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless cats. They found Tim a wonderful foster family, but he still suffered from a broken heart.

Tim was so depressed that he refused to eat. The depressed and befuddled kitty just wanted to curl up in a little ball of grief and lament being rejected by his family. His foster family was forced to force-feed him, and despite their best efforts, he continued to lose weight.

Magnificat and Tim’s new foster parents wanted nothing more than for Tim to be happy and rediscover his zest for life. They gave him all of their love and care, hoping that one day Tim would feel joy and love again, and gradually, happiness seemed to return to Tim’s life. We are so grateful that there are good people out there who work tirelessly to help animals in need and restore joy to the lives of sweet little cats like Tim.
